Today I want to share how to decorate S’more Cupcakes! Aren’t they fun?!
I just got back from a 5 day church Girls Camp. Even though I am not a camper, I really enjoyed it! My calling was to be one fo the people in charge of putting the camp on. It was a lot of work, but very rewarding. We had wonderful leaders and sweet girls there and it was an honor to be with them.
A couple of months before camp I was I was asked to come up with a fun dessert to serve at our camp kick off. I decided on Smore Cupcakes, since I had recently bought a little hand held kitchen torch. Since, I needed to provide a very large number, I decided to order the cupcakes from my favorite local bakery (Publix) instead of making them myself. Then I bought Hershey chocolate bars, graham crackers and mini marshmallows to use to decorate the tops. I had fun creating these and think they turned out great! I thought I would share how I decorated them with you in case you ever find a need for a cute campfire themed treat! Remember this Campfire cake? That would be a fun option too!
You could use this Classic Chocolate Cake recipe or this Classic Yellow Cake recipe if you wanted to make them from scratch. To make white buttercream, simply leave out the cocoa powder and use white vanilla.
Also I have this small kitchen torch that I used to toast the marshmallows. I think you could put them under the broiler in the oven, which I believe would work. Just watch them closely!!
