Ingredients

  • *3 sticks softened butter (I use salted butter)
  • *3 cups brown sugar
  • *3 eggs
  • *1 1/2 Tablespoons vanilla
  • *1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • *1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • *1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • *3 cups flour
  • TOPPING:
  • *2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • *3 Tablespoons cane sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Beat the butter and brown sugar together for 3-4 minutes, using a handheld or stand mixer.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix well.
  4. Add flour and gently mix, just until combined (do not over mix at this point!).
  5. Spoon the batter into a prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Combine the sugar and cinnamon topping and sprinkle evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 32-38 minutes, depending on your oven (should be set in the middle and crispy edges). The edges will puff up more than the center.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting. Once it has cooled, the bars will have a delicious and chewy texture. These are rich, so I cut small. Enjoy!
