A couple of weeks ago I needed a dessert to bring to a church function and created these Loaded Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Blondies and they were a big hit! I love it when a recipe that seems awesome in my mind, actually turns out! I had lots of requests for the recipe that night and the ones I left home for my boys were devoured!
I love making quick and easy bar cookies and Blondies are one of my favorites because of the endless possibilities. Depending on your mood, what you have on hand or the current holiday, you can make a Blondie to fit them all! Remember these Cadbury Egg Blondies (yummm), or these Applebee’s Blondies with Maple Butter Sauce (heavenly and perfect for Fall! )? Everyone needs a good Blondie recipe in their arsenal! They are simple, yet decedent and one pan goes a long way! They are rich enough that a small square is perfectly satisfying!
These Blondies are loaded with M&Ms, salty pretzel pieces and topped with melty milk chocolate bar squares and will delight anyone who is lucky enough to get one! Mmmmm
PrintLoaded Peanut Butter and Chocolate Blondies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) salted butter
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup M & M chocolate candies
- 1/2 cup broken pretzel sticks
- 1 Hershey Chocolate milk chocolate bar, broken into squares
Instructions
- reheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a microwave safe mixing bowl, melt together the butter and 1/2 cup peanut butter on power level high, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Stir in the brown sugar, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the flour and baking powder. Transfer the bowl to the freezer and chill 5 minutes or until the dough is no longer warm to the touch. Stir in the M&M chocolate candies and the pretzel pieces. Keep a few of each to put on the top, here and there.
- Spread the dough out in the prepared dish. Place a few pieces of M&Ms and pretzel sticks. Transfer to the oven and bake for 20-22 minutes, just until set in the center. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the milk chocolate squares over the blondies. Return to the oven for 1-2 minutes to gently melt the chocolate. Let cool and then cut into bars.
