This lemon bread recipe is a wonderful way to add a burst of sunshine to your day. With its tangy lemon zest and sweet glaze, it’s sure to become a family favorite.

- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup butter (softened to room temperature)
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- zest of 2 lemons
- Glaze
- 4 TB freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a bowl combine the sugar, eggs, butter, milk and lemon zest.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix well.
- I like to squeeze a little lemon juice into the batter, maybe a tablespoon or two.
- Bake in 2 8×4 inch greased and floured pans at 40-50 minutes.
- Glaze: Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice with powdered sugar.
- When you take the bread out of the oven let the glaze drip and drizzle over the loaves.
- If you want you can poke holes in the top first.
