This is one of my new favorite Halloween treats because they are soooooooo adorably creepy!! Personally I don’t like the foods to be too gruesome looking…I lose my appetite, haha! But these cute little spider eggs are perfect. Just spooky enough to make the kids giggle and the adults ooh and aah at how clever they look. I made these for Mom’s famous annual Halloween party and they were a hit all around! You will be hearing more about the big party soon… we have to share all of her wonderful ideas to create the best Halloween party ever (since I have posted about it here).
PrintSpooky Spider Eggs
Description
Such a fun way to serve deviled eggs for Halloween!
Ingredients
6 extra large hard boiled eggs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp white vinegar
medium black olives
Instructions
- Shell eggs and cut lengthwise into halves. Gently remove egg yolks and place in a medium bowl. Mash with fork then add the mayonnaise, salt, pepper, ground mustard, and vinegar to the egg yolks. Stir together until well blended. Scoop yolk mixture into egg white halves, heaping slightly.
- Cut 6 black olives lengthwise into halves and set aside (these will be the spider bodies). Cut more black olives lengthwise into halves. Cut each half cross-wise into 4 or 5 thin spider legs. (You will want to use a very sharp knife for this.) Working with one finished devil egg at a time, arrange 4 thin slices on each side of the mound of egg yolk mixture. After the 8 legs are in place, gently place an olive half, cut-side down, in the middle. Arrange on a platter and refrigerate until serving.
- *If you’re having trouble making the spider bodies stick, place a tiny scoop of egg yolk mixture into the underside of the olive half before placing it. This helped with mine!

Hi,
I’m doing a round-up on Disney Baby of healthy Halloween snacks and treats.
Would you mind if I included yours? I’d credit your photo and link back to
your site for the full recipe. Let me know if you’d be okay with that.
Thanks so much!

This is so adorable with the spiders – what a great idea! My deviled egg recipe is very similar and I love them this way. My girls love black olives and I could handle this little design – I love it!
