Poppyseed Bundt Cake
Ingredients
Cake
1 yellow cake mix (the kind with pudding)
1 (3.5 oz) box of instant vanilla pudding
1 TB poppyseeds
1/2 cup pinapple or orange juice
1/2 cup oil
1 cup sour cream (I use lite)
4 eggs
Glaze
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup butter (1 cube)
1–2 TB corn syrup (I usually leave this out)
Instructions
Cake:
- Mix yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding and poppyseeds.
- Add juice, oil, and sour cream and mix.
- Add 4 eggs one at a time, mix well.
- Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
- When the cake is about 10 minutes from being done start the glaze.
Glaze
- Bring to a boil–then keep bubbly until ready to pour over cake. It is really like syrup that soaks in. Give it a few minutes to soak in and then turn it out onto a cake plate. Enjoy!

For sure my Kitchen Aid! LOVE it!
Pampered chef chopper.
Toss up between my Kitchen Aid and my hot Zebra/hot pink apron!
I think it might have to be my cleaver…I’ve had it for fifty years. It chops vegetables and then acts like a scraper, picks the diced vegies up and plops them in the skillet or soup pot…almost like in one motion. I guess its partner might have to be the hand held stone for keeping sharp.
My Master Cook recipe software, where I store your recipes, would also have to be a favorite.
I do love the Silpat though…I have a big one that I use for kneading bread, etc. Sure could use another cookie sheet sized one!

Oh, this is so hard. It's like choosing which of my children I love the most–okay, maybe not JUST like that, but close. I've grown up loving kitchen gadgets, probably because my mom is a fabulous cook but also because I have fond memories of my dad and I watching infomercials of kitchen gadgets. We didn't order too many of them, but we did try out a few. The rest we accumulated at places like Bed Bath & Beyond. We sound so weird, I know. I suffer from an addiction of gathering way too many recipes for me to ever try in my lifetime, so I love your blog and have been trying some of your recipes lately. Thanks so much for sharing! Okay, if I really had to choose just one favorite kitchen tool, I guess it would be my favorite knife–my Santoku. I have two just like it because I use it so often.
saddlebackshutters@msn.com

My favorite tool? I would have to say my Santuko knife or my stone bakeware. Don’t have Silpat, but would LOVE one!
My favorite tool is a spoon I accidently got home with from a pot luck years ago. It’s a big metal serving spoon, wooden handle, and it is flat at the tip of the spool, not oval shape. Great when making gravy from scratch!
My cheese grater-the old school box kind. I never buy pre-grated cheese-it taste so much better freshly grated…makes for a great (grate!) veggie grater and citrus zester, too!

thepalins @ gmail. com (without spaces!)
My Cuisinart hand blender.
I love my immersion blender!
My daughter Lydia is definitely my favorite kitchen tool. She measures out the spices and dumps them in the bowl for me. She cleans up any flour that spills out of the bowl. And it is because of her that I have even chartered into the unknown world of cooking. With her, cooking is fun- isn’t that what the best kitchen tool is supposed to do?
I cannot tell you how often I use my mini scoopers! From muffins, to cookies, to ice cream! I can’t live without them!

For sure the kitchenaid…super quick and easy to make yummy treats and breads for the family!
Vidalia Chopper. I don’t have one yet, but I used one at my sisters home this weekend and it was awesome. I was skeptical at first but it made the prepping of the vegtables go fast.
my can opener. Seriously, how hard would cooking be without that little guy? It’s a nice one that takes the whole lid off safely by not cutting it. I love it!
close second would be my kitchenaid mixter ๐
My favorite thing is the grater attachment for my kitchenaid. Its awesome for anything even chocolate. Thanks for the fun giveaway and the awesome recipes!

I’ll have to try your version of poppyseed cake. I use the one from the Lion House cookbook and it is pretty similar. The only thing I do different is add almond extract to the cake and a little to my glaze. I also like to sprinkle the top with slivered almonds. It is addictive!
My favorite kitchen tool is definitely my Bosch.

I’ve never been good at picking favorites. I truly love each of my kitchen toys…I mean tools. I guess the thing I would miss most if I had to do without it is my cast iron cookware, especially my 12″ cast iron skillet. It is my most used kitchen item. Love it and I love your blog, too.
